MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE HELSINKI ZOO IN KORKEASAARI BY LAND OR SEA!
The Korkeasaari island lies close to the city centre north of Kruunuvuorenselkä.
It is possible to get to the Helsinki Zoo in Korkeasaari through Mustikkamaa recreation area all the year round. In summer, you can also take the boat from the Kauppatori market place or Hakaniemi.
By bus
Bus number 11, the Zoo Bus, runs from the Central Railway Station to the Helsinki Zoo all year round every day, except on Christmas Eve. The platform at the Railway Station is no. 8. Estimated travel time is 20 minutes.
Helsinki local and regional tickets are valid on the Zoo Bus. You can use the tickets within the city of Helsinki on buses, trams, the metro, local trains and the Suomenlinna ferry.

Nearest Metro station is Kulosaari Metro Station, about 2km walk to Helsinki Zoo.
BY FERRY
The Kauppatori boat runs every day through May to September. Ferry season is over for this year. Ferries starts cruising again in May 2012.
Ferry services to the zoo are provided by
Helsingin Vesibussit Oy. In addition to wooden ferries, the company also operates a paddle steamer. It mainly operates on the Market Square route, but may occasionally be used on other routes.
