In the video two male lion cubs are with their mother. The manes of the lionboys have started to grow and they look like grown-ups when they are about three years old.

The presence, color and size of the mane is associated with genetic precondition, sexual maturity, climate and testosterone production; the is the darker and fuller the mane, the healthier the lion. Castrated lions have small manes.
